18th Annual Australian Winter School on Alcohol and other Drug

Date: 4 - 7 July 2005
Venue: Carlton Crest Hotel, Brisbane

The Australian Winter School is an initiative of the Alcohol and Drug Foundation – Queensland (ADFQ). This conference aims to increase delegates’ level of knowledge and professional skills and present the most recent research in the alcohol and other drugs field. It is designed for professionals working in the medical and allied health fields, education, law enforcement, crime prevention, corrections, policy and research who are service providers or addressing issues associated with alcohol and other drugs.


2005 NDARC Symposium

Date: 28 July 2005
Venue: Masonic Centre, Sydney

A forum for alcohol and other drug workers to hear about a wide range of research projects which are currently being undertaken at the Centre.


The 2nd Conference of INEBRIA (International Network on Brief Interventions for Alcohol Problems)

Venue: Muenster, Germany
Date: 15-16th September 2005

This Conference will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the latest developments in the field of brief interventions for alcohol problems. The program will include presentations by invited experts, scientific contributions related to the objectives of INEBRIA, and workshops dealing with practical matters of implementation.


APSAD 2005 Conference

Date: 6-9 November 2005
Place: Hilton on the Park, Melbourne, Victoria

The theme of this conference is 'Science, Practice, Experience' and will demonstrate outstanding science, best practice in treatment, law enforcement, harm reduction and prevention and include experiential knowledge at all levels. Drug and alcohol workers, researchers, health and other professionals with an interest in the drug and alcohol field, and individuals and organisations representing drug consumers should attend.


5th International Conference on Drugs & Young People

Venue: AJC Convention Centre, Randwick , New South Wales
Date: 24-26th May 2006

The theme for this conference is the culture and context of young peoples' drug use across settings. These settings include bars and clubs, workplaces and schools, public spaces, juvenile justice settings and the web. The conference will attract delegates from a variety of sectors including community and welfare, crime prevention, education and training, medical and allied health, law enforcement and corrections, policy and research, youth work and local government.
