Alcohol Issues in Alice Springs and the Role of Alice Springs Town Council
Alice Springs Town Council is one of the many concerned stakeholders seeking to minimise harms related to alcohol and the economic and social costs to the community. Alice Springs, along with other isolated regions and towns across Australia and in the Territory, has one of the highest rates of consumption of alcohol per capita in Australia. The Alice Springs Town Council has adopted a position and has resolved to take a “leadership role in resolving alcohol issues in Alice Springs by encouraging and supporting concerned community groups and organisations to participate”.
